Electronic Technician II or III (Full Time / Unaccompanied) Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands : Responsibilities: Use your recent military or civilian experience with electronic troubleshooting and repair in an exciting new role. The Electronic Technician II or III operates and maintains RTS instrumentation systems. The Technician performs on-site data preparation and data transmission. The Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with applicable system technical orders and other appropriate technical documentation. The Technician performs mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, soldering repair and checkout on a variety of electronic components subassemblies, assemblies, panels and chassis. The Technician will operate and appropriate Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in the maintenance and evaluation of assigned equipment. This equipment includes but is not limited to meters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, distortion analyzers, network analyzers and power meters. The Technician will participate in and perform training to maintain and increase certification and skill level. The Technician will complete and maintain logs, forms and records. The Technician will perform other duties as directed. Status: This full-time position has a two year minimum commitment with unaccompanied status. Required Skills: Requirements for this position will include a High School Diploma, along with training in Electronics including directly related military training or an AS in Electronics. The position will require a minimum of 3 to 10 years of professional experience. Wirewrap and soldering skills to the minimum level of "Best Commercial Practices" will be required. Experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power meters are also required. A proficiency with performing mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, soldering repair and checkout on a variety of electronic components subassemblies, assemblies, panels and chassis is required. In this position the Space Surveillance Operator will support all Space Surveillance Operations. The duties are performed in a real time environment and can be demanding. The mission of the work involves tracking and cataloging thousands of pieces of space debris that orbit our planet. Currently, the resident space object (RSO) catalog contains more than 8000 entries, consisting of active and inactive satellites, rocket bodies, and debris, with an active subset of over 800 objects. The Operator must demonstrate initiative in OJT while working on a team and train others as they progress. Daily communications with the military customer is required and must be handled in a highly professional manner. The Operator will plan, prepare, and directly support high priority radar operations involving new space launches, near earth and deep space satellite tracks and maintain statistical & analytical data. The Operator will control multiple KREMS Radar sensors using acquisition and track consoles to perform data collection. He/She will operate Silicon Graphics ( SGI /UNIX), PC computer systems and a dedicated communications message processing system. He/She will support documentation of Operational Procedure updating for the Space Surveillance mission. This is an Operator position and not a technician position. Location: Kwajalein Atoll , Marshall Islands : Duties: Use your recent military or civilian experience as a Launch Ordnance Technician in this exciting new position. In this position the Launch Ordnance Technician will develop procedures for hazardous operations (HAZOP) and will act as the custodian of all the explosive storage facilities. The Launch Ordnance Technician will provide explosive handling operations and inventories. Conducting Meteorological Rocket launches is an important and interesting part of this position. Inspecting, testing, and documenting grounding systems and lightning protection equipment will also be necessary in this role. The Technician will conduct inspections of lifting devices used in explosives operations in accordance with regulations. The Technician will work closely with Missile Range Ground Safety personnel during movement, transport, and setup of rocket propellants.
