Food Service Positions


Shift Supervisor (Full-time; Unaccompanied)

JOB DUTIES:

• Supervises base dining facility Cafe Roi on the island of Roi-Namur.
• Oversees all daily base operations and is “hands-on” and capable to assist in all aspects of Base Operations..
• Maintains compliance with all quality, sanitation, food safety requirements in accordance with TB MED 530, HACCP principles, KRS SPIs and DIs instructions/standards/guidelines.
• Insures Physical Security and inventory accountability of facility and its contents by conducting open and closing inventories; accurate record production menu sheet , cash flow, labor, equipment property and assets.
• Minimize operating expenses and optimize pricing and efficiencies to cover operating costs and generate a profit.
• Responsible for Annual Medical Clearance of Food Handlers or related medical clearances in compliance with all requirements to subordinates.
• Initiates work service requests for repairs of facility or equipment or other related work service in relation to base operations.
• Initiates work schedules for employees and keep employee file records current.
• Ensures achievement of budgeted goals, and plans ahead for budget constraints.
• Assits with weekly reports to KRS and provide advertising for use in available media sources and inner facility signage.
• Actively participate in community planned events.
• Provide support in VIP service for special events/functions and change of commands.
• Coordinates with Provision/Supply personnel for ordering and delivery of all supply and provisions.
• Maintains freshness by ensuring First-In-First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation policy is enforced.
• Provides planning for the replacement of aged, high maintenance, inefficient, outdated equipment in accordance with established equipment replacement plan.
• Trains associates and assigns/coordinates their work to improve operation and labor efficiencies.
• Responds to customer satisfaction surveys and uses suggestions and comments in a pro-active manner.
• Must be physically capable and may be required to lift up to 60 pounds, prolonged standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching up and reaching out.
• Performs other duties as assigned by base dining manager.
• Authorized signature for time reports.
• Supervision of Cooks, Leads, Food Service Workers, Cashiers, Janitors, and Utility Personnel.

JOB SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
• Required: Supervisory experience in food service and culinary arts.Requires strong background in floor supervison of food service facilities. Organizational skills, knowledgeable in food safety and sanitation policies. Knows how to initiate employee training, ordering of supply and provision inventory acquisitions/procurements, familiar with delivery scheduling, and cash handling procedures.

EXPERIENCE (Years):
• Required: 5 years

• Desired: 7 years

EDUCATION:
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent, 5 years of supervisory experience in a similar food facility/cafeteria or restaurant. Current US Passport and other picture identification documenting identity in compliance with OPSEC requirements. Current SERVSAFE Certification in compliance with TB Med 530 requirements.

• Desired: BS/BA Degree in Hotel Management or related disciplines.

OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have all the certifications, skills, education, knowledge, licenses and traits as necessary to fulfill the required duties; possess food handling practices, knowledge of presentation skills and experience or training in preparing menu entrées of an international venue.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation/criminal background check and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information as required for the position offered.

You and authorized dependents, if any, traveling to Kwajalein are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to departure. You and your dependents must maintain a current passport during your stay on the island.
