Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands: The Telemetry Technician applies technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions. This includes, but may not be limited to RTS Telemetry equipment, Antenna control Units (ACUs), recorders, patch panels, TGRS, receivers, and antennas. The Technician will perform such tasks as replacing components and wiring circuits; repairing and aligning simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multimeters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes. The Technician must be able to read electronic schematic diagrams for circuit tracing and troubleshooting. The Technician will be capable of receiving technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher level technician. The Technician will be required to train subordinates or co-workers as necessary to enhance skill level and knowledge base. The Technician will perform other duties as assigned. The Technician will complete and maintain logs, forms and records.

Position Status: Unaccompanied – This full-time position has a two year minimum commitment with unaccompanied status. Unaccompanied status means that no dependants or pets are authorized.

Security Clearance: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Required Skills: a minimum of a High School Diploma and an AS in Electronics Technology or equivalent military training is required. A minimum of 6 to 8 years of career experience is required. A minimum of 3 to 5 years of recent experience as a Telemetry Technician or similar work is required. PC Literacy is required as is experience with MS office applications.

Desired Skills: Previous experience in Telemetry at other ranges, especially with TBSPs and TGRS is desired. Other closely related military of civilian experience with telemetry may be substituted for education. Prior SATCOM operations experience is desired.

Electronic Technician I, Telemetry (Full Time / Unaccompanied)

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands: The Technician will perform minimum system checkouts, tests, and pre-mission simulations, operate, maintain and repairs to component level all types of telemetry equipment used in a telemetry antenna tracking/ground station under the supervision of higher level technicians. Responsibilities: Will require periodic long durations at sea to accomplish KMRSS missions. The Hardware Engineer will participate in mission planning, preparation and evaluation of Telemetry requirements on the KMRSS a Telemetry/Safety shipboard platform. Systems Engineer IV, Flight Safety Systems (Full Time / Unaccompanied)

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands & at sea aboard the Worthy.

Responsibilities: The Engineer will lead technical staff with preparation, planning and execution of operations at the two flight safety systems at the Reagan Test Site at Kwajalein. This will involve all aspects of preparing the flight safety systems for missions, interfacing with government representatives, industry partners and other contractors in a team environment and supporting the flight safety function of missile testing from RTS systems. This includes systems on the KMRSS Worthy and at KRSS sites on Kwajalein and Roi Namur. The Engineer may be required to direct and schedule work for technical team of engineers/technicians and coordinate activities with other subsystem engineers. The Engineer will must be willing and able to work aboard the KMRSS Worthy, a mobile flight safety system. This work environment requires that the candidate is able to climb boarding ladders and gang-planks, and able to carry at least 50 lbs. The candidate must be willing to sail aboard the KMRSS Worthy for periods up to 6 weeks at a time. In this senior role the engineer will be expected to demonstrate expert level knowledge in assigned areas of specialization. The engineer will develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity. The engineer will apply extensive technical expertise, and have full knowledge of other related disciplines.

Status: This full-time position has a two year minimum commitment with accompanied or unaccompanied status.

Requirements for this position will include a BS in Engineering or closely related field and a minimum of 10 to 15 years of professional and related engineering experience. Experience working in a flight safety capacity at a missile range is required. Candidate must have demonstrated familiarity with the flight safety process in preparation for and execution of missile launches from a national range. The physical ability to sail aboard the KMRSS Worthy in a deep sea environment for extended periods is required. Effective supervisory skills are required.

Desired: Prior experience with sea based systems engineering and systems integration is desired. Experience in universal documentation system ( UDS) desired. Involvement in one or more of the following areas desired: RF link margin analysis, experience with networking systems, experience with telemetry systems, decomm experience, experience with satellite communications or broad software experience (C++). An MS in Engineering or closely related may be desirable.

Desired Skills: Subject matter experience working on solid state HPA’s is strongly desired. Prior experience working on solid state high powered amplifiers as used in RF transmitters is desired. Experience with modulation analyzers, IRIG tone encoders, RF exciters, and command destruct receivers, is desired. Soldering skills would be helpful.

The Optics Systems Engineer participates in the design, development, installation, and test of optics modifications and upgrades, the diagnosis and repair of optics systems faults, and analyzes and evaluates optics system performance. Optics Technician III (Full Time/ Unaccompanied)

Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains RTS instrumentation and optics systems, including still, IR, and hi-speed tracking cameras. Performs and may oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment in accordance with applicable system technical orders and other appropriate technical documentation. Performs and may oversee mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, soldering repair, and checkout on a variety of electronic components subassemblies, assemblies, panels and chassis. Operates required Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) in the maintenance and evaluation of assigned hardware.   • Capable of performing physical labor.
  • Able to travel by boat, helicopter or aircraft to and work at remote sites with limited facilities.
  • Able to climb towers to 60 feet.

Mission Technical Director IV/Systems Engineer IV (Full Time/ Unaccompanied)

Responsibilities:

High level systems engineering responsibilities to include technical analysis and problem solving skills. Candidate should possess a minimum of five years of Test Range experience and/or Missile Flight Test experience. Candidate will interface with RTS range customers in support of mission planning and execution of missions. Responsibilities include: define mission requirements, develop Range Universal Documentation, perform test planning, and lead real-time mission operations from the Kwajalein Mission Control Center.

Requirements:

Candidate must have excellent leadership and communications skills. Candidate must be capable of interfacing with the real time control room equipment and computer display systems. Software Engineer IV, Optics (Full Time/Unaccompanied)

Responsibilities:
This position will require detailed knowledge of the optics Real-Time Program (RTP). The primary responsibility will be to monitor progress in ROSA-2 RTP development and ensure that all current RTP tasks are functioning properly. As an optics RTP software engineer, employee will work to improve and maintain the large software suite used at RTS to control all aspects of optics control, button processing, data recording, displays, target detection & tracking , image processing, calibrations, data distribution, and test target control associated with the five RTS optics sites. The Engineer will program in C using defined software processes in a Unix/Linux environment. The Engineer shall have knowledge of java and a java development environment. The Engineer shall be capable of converting Matlab algorithms into executables. The Engineer will also improve accuracy, reliability, displays, recording capabilities, and robustness working closely with the RTS mission operations software engineering and systems engineering groups. Support initiatives for continuous software life-cycle process improvements and respond to requests from MIT/LL and customers for mission specific modifications. An initiative to perform optics operations from CONUS is ramping up, and the employee will be involved in modifications to allow remote operations with minimal risk to RTS optics instrumentation.

Mission Planner III (Location: Huntsville, AL/Full Time)


Responsibilities:

This position provides support in the cost estimating and tracking functions and acts as the primary back-up to the existing primary Mission Ops cost estimator. The employee accomplishes assigned tasks within the framework of the Program Work Statement (PWS) which includes performing cost estimating, requirements analysis, identifying support problems, supporting meetings, conducting special studies, preparing Universal Documentation System (UDS) documentation, and supporting Integrated Process Teams (IPT). The employee evaluates and prepares mission planning and requirements documents utilizing the UDS. Provides cost estimates for range activities and generates UDS documents as required by range operations. May attend mission planning and technical interchange meetings at CONUS and OCONUS (overseas) customer locations.

Job Knowledge:
Familiarity with Reagan Test Site and range operations with understanding of cost estimating requirements in a range environment.

This position supervises the Mission Safety organization on Kwajalein, RTS. In addition, this position has responsibility for the ground based Range Safety systems on RTS as well as the Mobile Safety Ship the KMRSS Worthy. The position requires strong management and leadership skills to adequately fulfill these diverse requirements. The employee must have previous supervisory experience. The candidate should have a demonstrated working knowledge of Range Safety systems, Range Operations and test operations. Software experience in operational systems is a plus. This position is required to interface with Government Safety personnel and external mission customers. Knowledge or experience with RF Systems, High Voltage Transmitters, Operations consoles and Range Safety operations desired.

This position will require management of 15-20 employees, and will perform administrative management responsibilities of the Mission Safety department to include: work authorization and timesheets approval, hiring of employees, annual reviews and disciplinary actions, and will be responsible for the schedule and operational budget performance.

The position will ensure all systems adhere to Maintenance and Configuration Management processes. In addition, the position will ensure adequate planning and execution of the safety mission role at RTS. This position will also support all ground safety and RF safety support requirements for the range.

Required skills: The position requires strong leadership skills with a technical degree or background. A background in Range Safety Systems, electronics or hardware engineering a plus. Software experience a plus.

Desired skills: Previous supervisor experience in an engineering or operations role. Range Operations background or Mission Safety experience desired.

Typical experience: 7-10 years with Supervisor background.

Responsibilities: Provide support to US Army on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. Develops, maintains and modifies routine programs in Visual C++ and /or Visual Basic. Develops derived equations and derived C++ functions to support the Telemetry PCM decommutation systems. Works closely with the “end user” to provide a data product, which meets their specifications’ may include modifications to existing routines, or development of a new program. Knowledge and understanding of PCM decommutations systems is desirable. May evaluate simple interrelationships to the immediate programming area; confer with user representative to gain an understanding of the situation sufficient to formulate the needed change, and implements the change upon approval of the supervisor. Applies technical knowledge to perform routine to complex tasks and measurements associated with RTS Telemetry equipment. Will participate in mission planning, preparation, and evaluation of requirements. Operates and maintains the RTS Instrumentation and systems. Analyzes pre-mission and post-mission data to detect sensor equipment malfunctions and deviations. Operates, maintains and repairs to the component level, all types of telemetry equipment to include but not limited to Antenna Controls/Antenna’s, Telemetry Bit Stream Processor, Translated GPS Range Tracking System (TGRS) Analog/Digital Recorders, Receivers, Multiplex/Demux Equipment, Strip Charts Maintains documentation records of maintenance performed and mission support logs. Provides OJT to junior technicians on site equipment and procedures.
