Calibration Technician III, Metrologist (Full Time / Unaccompanied)

Location: Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands: The Technician will use Measurement Standards in conjunction with Army, Air Force, Navy, local and MFR Calibration procedures to test, repair, and calibrate TMDE following standard practices of Metrology and USATA. The Technician will participate in QA audits and end item inspections in accordance with Army requirements. The Technician will advise Calibration Lab Leader in new methods of calibration and standards. The Technician will use and assist in the revisions of Army ICE and Fluke MetCal Automated Calibration programs to verify TMDE. The Technician uses computer software to perform parts research, prepare required calibration correction charts, submit changes to calibration procedures, and to control TMDE being calibrated. The Technician will perform other duties as assigned.

Position Status: Unaccompanied – This full-time position has a two year minimum commitment with unaccompanied status. Unaccompanied status means that no dependants or pets are authorized.

Security Clearance: Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Required Skills: Requirements for this position will include a High School Diploma along with Basic Electronics School, Calibration (Metrology) School, with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience performing calibrations. A minimum of 5 years previous calibration laboratory Lab experience working with RF and microwave is required. Computer literacy is required and computer skills must include MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint.

Desired Skills: Experience with Fluke Met/Cal Automated Calibration Programming and NI LabWindows programming is desired. Military or civilian course in Metrology practices is desired.

 

You and authorized dependents, if any, traveling to Kwajalein are required to have a valid passport in your possession prior to departure. You and your dependents must maintain a current passport during your stay on the island.

Calibration Laboratory Supervisor (Full-time/Unaccompanied Status)

 

Job Description
Background: Provide on site Calibration Laboratory Supervision to U.S. Army on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. KRS is currently seeking individuals for opportunities at Kwajalein, in the Marshall Islands. This location is a beautiful, tropical setting in the central Pacific that offers year-round water sports and many other recreational activities. The Reagan Test Site (RTS) complex includes a variety of radar, telemetry, and other instrumentation and communication systems.

Responsibilities: Supervises a group that calibrates, repairs and maintains standard and modified electronic, physical, and mechanical Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) located within the RTS Instrumentation and Support System. Supervision includes tasking, monitoring, evaluating and mentoring Calibration Laboratory Employees. Other supervisory responsibilities include hiring, budgeting, ordering and reporting key performance metrics. Insures that approved calibration procedures are utilized, accurate TMDE documentation is maintained and traceability to NIST. Insures customers support is consistent with PWS performance standards. The Calibration Laboratory Supervisor assigns personnel to order parts, perform Quality Assurance inspections, and perform various other duties as required.

Security Clearance: Must hold, or have recently held, a Secret clearance. Additional clearances may also be required from the DoD.

Required Skills: A minimum of 10 years experience successfully managing a calibration laboratory is required.

Desired Skills: Expert in all aspects of the calibration process

Typical Experience: 10-15 years

Education: High School. Basic Electronics School, Calibration (Metrology) School. Supervisory training
