As a result, the air-quality is cleaner and nightly star-gazing is far clearer than in the States. There is a notable difference in the cost of living between Roi-Namur and stateside cities. The provision of housing meals at Cafe' Roi and utilities, the fact that the primary mode of transportation is a bicycle and the opportunity to qualify for federal tax exemption are among the biggest factors in the cost of living difference.
